Guest Bio

To understand the rules that define our universe, from the structure of spacetime at the quantum level, to the hidden mechanisms responsible for the emergence of the laws of physics themselves, Spyridon applies his training as a mathematical physicist to illuminate the role of mathematics in the birth of physical reality and the unification of all of physics. Beyond his research at Caltech’s Institute for Quantum Information and Matter, Spyridon has partnered with Stephen Hawking, Keanu Reeves, Paul Rudd, Zoe Saldana, John Cho and Simon Pegg to explore cutting-edge quantum science through the short films “Anyone Can Quantum” and “Quantum Is Calling”. His contribution to the Marvel Cinematic Universe is the concept of the "quantum realm", which he introduced as the scientific consultant for Ant-Man. Spyridon is an avid volleyball player and hardcore anime aficionado.
