General Manager, Glixel
John Davison is the general manager of Glixel, the new video game culture website from the publishers of Rolling Stone. John has more than 20 years of experience in both the video games and media business. Previously he headed up GameSpot and Metacritic at CBS Interactive as the Vice President of Programming, leading all editorial content and video production. He also led the integration of Giant Bomb and Comic Vine into the CBSi group after the sites were acquired in 2012. In 2010 John was responsible for rebooting GamePro both online and in print at IDG Media, where he was Executive Vice President of Content. In 2007 he was the co-founder of the first games website aimed at parents and families with his startup What They Play, which enjoyed considerable media attention before it was sold to IGN in 2010. He was previously the Senior Vice President of content at Ziff Davis where he oversaw all online and print brands, including 1UP.com, Electronic Gaming Monthly, Official PlayStation Magazine, and Computer Gaming World.
